James-Younger Gang

The James-Younger Gang was a 19th century gang centered in Missouri. It consisted of american outlaws including Jesse James and the Younger brothers, Cole, Jim, John, and Bob. The gang had its origins in a Confederate bushwackers group who was part of the fighting in Missouri during the American Civil War. The James-Younger Gang wasn't officially recognized until 1868 when the authorities suspected Cole Younger and the two James brothers as suspects in the Nimrod Long bank robbery. The gang robbed banks, trains, and stagecoaches The gang ended in 1867 when the Younger brothers were caught in the botched Northfield First National Bank robbery.
