Land Mines

an HMS American Cultures collaborative production

To start a land mine is an explosive that was used in the civil war. It is instigated when triggered by the operator. In addition, it can be triggered when something steps on it (triggered by pressure). It can be in the ground or on the ground as well. Land mines can act as barriers during war, but they are very controversial because if they are not triggered during war, then they remain in or on the ground and can be accidentally triggered by an innocent civilians, permanently scarring them forever. The land mine can be a very tactical weapon during times of war and it can be very, very effective. Part of the reason, is because they are not always visible. A soldier can be traveling in what they think is a careful zone, but seconds later, they can be blown into shreds by the sheer power of the land mine's explosion. Overall, land mines are a secretive, useful military weapon.
